Passing of Colin Marshall

Colin Marshall

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of Colin Marshall aged 83.

Colin represented DTCC in the 1950s and 1960s before leaving the area. He was a former Doncaster Grammar School pupil who came to the club via Bill Lockwood’s production line from the school many of whom went on to play in the First XI. Colin was a reliable batsman who never gave his wicket away cheaply, often opening the batting with Bill.

Colin lived in Southampton for over 50 years where he was a teacher. He continued to take a great interest in DTCC using Play-Cricket to follow the scores and often rang me to discuss the club’s progress.

Our thoughts are with his wife Janet and all his family.

John Lockwood
