NEW SIGNING
James Ward our first team captain. delighted to announce the signing of Tasmanian, Hobart Hurricane and soon to be Australia A player, Caleb Jewell. Caleb is a destructive top order left hand batsmen who bowls part time right arm off spin.
Caleb excelled in this years Big Bash with 289 runs in 11 knocks @ an average of 26.27 and a strike rate of 144.50 as he was in the top 20 run scorers in the competition. Caleb also finished the Sheffield Shield & Marsh Cup campaigns in fine form with scores of 98, 38, 40, 121 & 104.
This fine form coupled with his immense talent has rightly resulted in selection for Australia A and their imminent tour of NZ. Caleb will hopefully make his debut for Australia A in their 4 day game starting tomorrow. Keep an eye out for his performances!
Caleb will also be coaching our juniors and women and girls sections as well as supporting on our cricket camps this summer.
Let’s give a warm welcome to Caleb towards the end of the month when he arrives ready to tear up the YSCPL this season!
